Raheem Residency is a precious jewel in the tourism of South India.
A landmark in the small town of Alleppey. A colonial bungalow (1868 or earlier) at Alleppey Beach, Raheem Residency has been refurbished in a true, rich, classical Indian style. Until the present owners, a small Indo -European company, bought Raheem Bungalow in 2003 it had been the home of Mr. Raheem and his family for the previous 100 years.
The Raheem Residency experience is best described as an authentic Indian one with a personal touch from the owners and staff who also value the guests’ privacy. Consequently you can sunbathe by the pool in a private courtyard with little or no staff around, thus giving the impression, as some of our guests have said, that “one is in one’s own private villa!”
You can catch the glorious sunsets on the beach opposite, take a private cruise on a country boat or a converted riceboat from the boat jetty (10 minutes); experience an authentic Indian town on a manageable scale (10 minutes); enjoy the ancient arts of Ayurvedic massage and Yoga; and sit by the pool reading from our rich collection of books of Indian interest (with a few thrillers thrown for easy reading!).
